Is there a big difference between snowboards?

Or do the bindings and boots really matter? If I buy a Lamar snowboard (b/c I heard Lamar is not the best or close to the best) and put on K2 bindings and boots won't it be just as good as the K2 snowboard? I know there are different types of snowboards and I don't care right now, I just want to know if I would do that would it be the same.
