Why does that particular girl keep stalking me and asking/talking to other people about me?

She told me that she want me to go to the college as her but I told her I am happy where I am and wouldn't change it for anything. Other day I told my friend about me thinking about going to Leeds university and a few weeks later, that particular girl told me that she is thinking about going to Leeds university. I take it my friend told her what I've told him. I keep wondering why she is doing this to me? My another friend told me that she has been asking/talking to him about me.. I am getting really freaked out. Can you guess something that may be the reason why she is doing this to me?? Thanks.
